I’ve just ordered an Smart Server from iweb.com for my new hosting plan. After received a message that said my server is ready, I go to the control panel called WebHost Manager (WHM) to start managing my server. However, I don’t know how to play with it because this is the first time I access to the WHM Acceleraed Control Panel. I though I should be on cPanel or something like that which I used to use sometimes before. The hosting provider promoted a cPanel Control Panel with $20/month for me but what I see/play was so strange and I was so confused.
My biggest question was: ‘What the difference between cPanel and WHM is?’. Now, I found the answer.
- 1. WHM is a resellers control panel. It is what reseller customers use to manage all the hosting accounts in their reseller plan.
- 2. cPanel on the other hand, is the end user’s control panel. It is what the reseller’s customers use to manage their individual hosting accounts.
Basically, the difference between cPanel and WHM is:
- 1. cPanel is the end user’s control panel
- 2. WHM is the reseller’s control panel
