I tried to use Amazon EC 2 (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud) and signed up AWS Free Usage Tier for last 2 weeks. Because I hear a lot about Amazon Cloud so I really want to bring my websites there and test the service.
I thought that it’s free server in order for me can play and get familiar with but I’ve just received an email from their billing system that says I have to pay around $20 for my account. That made me very confuse, disappointed and don’t want to try anymore although their CloudFront (CDN) service is very good.
In addition, the Amazon EC2 start at 1.7 GB of RAM (~0.085/hour) as a smallest package by default, it’s much more than resources I need at the moment and I also don’t want to pay more than $60 a month.
Therefore, I have to go with another solution and Rackspace hosting is a good one to try based on their comparison: http://www.rackspace.com/cloud/cloud_hosting_products/servers/compare/
