Being beginner how to know spam visitor on blog

It is the ultimate pleasure for any newbie blogger to get more visitors from around the world to their blog. But spam visitors also add up to the page views on your blog. These visits are not the actual traffic for your blogs and are considered as false traffic in our statistics. When people visit your site it is always good to involve them in posting comments. This really helps the audience to judge how good blogs are based upon the number of comments they see.

Of course, most blog owners would expect to receive comments that help in promoting their site. However, there are many blogs who misuse this opportunity and add comments for their survival. Even worse are those visitors who post links that are malicious in nature and are dangerous to you and your readers.

Prevent Spam Comments On Your Blog

Prevent Spam Comments On Your Blog

Although it is impossible to block the spam visitors to your blog there are ways a site owner can track and reduce the amount of spam that appears in comments.

Here are some easy ways to detect the spam visitors on your site.

Make sure that the comment is unique

You may receive comments that appear to be fresh and are even interesting to read. Spammers are turning clever these days. You can’t judge the comments in one glance. To check if a comment is posted from a visitor who really is interested in sharing his thoughts with you related to your post, you’ve got to check if that comment is fresh. And to do this, you need to follow a simple procedure- use search engine like Google.

Just copy the entire comment and paste it on Google’s search box enclosed within quotes, click the search button. You will be surprised with the search results. The comment you have received on your blog has more results. This means that the comment is not unique and has already appeared on many sites on the internet. On the other hand if the comment is unique, Google search results should display “no results found”.

Spam visitors hide their original name

Some visitors just post comments on your blog not to add credit to your article, but to just add keywords and URLs on your post and earn backlinks, hoping that their site will get better search rankings. Hence, they use keywords in place of their original names. Don’t entertain commenter’s who don’t use their original name.

Check the email address and website used

The next step is to check the visitor’s email and website URL for anything that appears spam. Spam visitors usually have multiple and random email accounts. Also, their website URLs is long and unfriendly.

The Links inside the comment

Usually blog owners don’t allow visitors to add links in the comment section to prevent spam abuse, unless the link helps in promoting their blog. Besides, there is an option where you can add your name and email for placing the link on your website. But spam visitors who use tricks to share a comment on your blog don’t care about that. There are other visitors who add links blatantly in the comment section, which you should observe carefully. Such comments should be tagged as spam and you should block their IPs from accessing your blogs again.
